 By Ajayi Olajumoke and Oshinbolu Bisola Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) came under attack on Saturday, February 26, 2022 in the course of carrying out the arrest of a suspected drug kingpin, Mrs Sherifat Lawal who was reportedly operating a notorious drug haven in the Patey Area of Lagos Island.  Despite the onslaught of the mobilised hoodlums attacking operatives of the NDLEA with stones, bottles and even guns, the raid saw the successful arrest of the major suspect and  Six others, recovering  5,862 kilograms of assorted illicit drugs including Loud and Codeine. SRC Encourages NIJites to get PVC, explains processes

In a WhatsApp message signed by the SRC President, Adesanya Adedapo, the process of registration and collection which has the online physical phase was duly explained and students were advised to do it as soon as possible. There is the online and physical phase of PVC registration. For the online, visit cvr.inec.org and fill in the necessary information. Students express reservations for NYSC mobilisation

Students of secondary and higher institutions were not sure of their safety anywhere; in school, at home or on their way to or from their schools.  National Youth Service Corps members are also not spared from the attacks.  In October, corp members were kidnapped by bandits in the Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara on their way to camp. OGBA RESIDENTS COMPLAIN OVER HYGIENE OF ROADSIDE FOOD by Aderinsola Oluwatosin Residents of Yaya Abatan street, Ogba  in Lagos have complained about the effects of lack of hygiene of roadside food in the area. In an interview with NIJ VOICE correspondent, Nike, a resident gave her experience about her encounter.    "It is not hygienic for me to buy food on the street. I have noticed food vendors use dirty water to prepare food, which can cause typhoid and the annoying part is that is common among all the vendors", she said.
