To some, it was Valentine’s Day but for students of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, it was their annual entrepreneurship exhibition event.

Each student from the National Diploma II to the Higher National Diploma I & II was shared into groups to showcase their products which were adorned with the school’s logo and also that of the official radio station of the school - Pen Radio.

The exhibition started at 1p.m. and was graced by the Deputy Provost, Dr Dele Omojuyigbe, the Registrar, Mrs Patricia Kalesanwo as well as the lecturers in charge of the Entrepreneurship courses, Mrs Olabisi Bamishe, who is also the head of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Miss Damilola Amire, who handles the HND I class.

Other lecturers of the institution were also on hand to show support and solidarity to the students.

Speaking at the ribbon-cutting, the Deputy Provost lauded the students for not just sticking to intellectual and social activities but also adding entrepreneurial skills to the mix.

He advised them not to make it a one-time thing and continue harnessing all the school has been doing in that regard.

The exhibition was seen to be a fruitful one as students were able to display lots of products. Some had the logos branded on towels, water bottles, face caps, bags, shirts, and other products.

To get extra marks, some even went on to cook various side dishes in addition to all they had to sell.

Mrs Bamishe, the head lecturer in charge of the exhibition awarded each group according to their products and of course their dress codes.

The exhibition takes place every year on the school premises, it comes with lots of fun as students go round to showcase their products for people to buy.
