NIJ holds Photo course, exhibition

The Nigerian Institute of Journalism Ogba has rounded up another set of her Proficiency Certificate in Photojournalism course with a photo exhibition.
The exhibition which took place in the school auditorium on Monday 31st of January saw fifteen students emerge as certified photojournalists after having trained and fulfilled all field works.
Six students of the 2021 set were joined by nine students of the 2019 set who due to the Covid-19 pandemic could not exhibit their photographs.
The exhibition was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Deputy Provost of the institute, Dr Dele Omojuyigbe and was attended by Director of Special Programmes, Dr Jide Johnson, Registrar, Mrs Patricia Kalesanwo, HOD General Studies, Dr Boye Ola, HOD Mass Communication, Mr Mike Osuji, Award-winning international Photojournalist Mr Akintunde Akinleye and other staff.
NIJ is a premier monotechnic of Mass communication that offers proficiency courses in specialised areas of the field. The PCPJ is a four-month special proficiency training course in photojournalism where practising photographers and photography enthusiasts can gain a recognised certificate after going through training and demonstrating proficiency in the field.
This just-concluded course started in September 2021 and participants were taken by erstwhile photojournalists like Mr Gbile Oshadipe, Mr Akintunde Akinleye, Dr Boye Ola and other faculty.


I am proud of my school, they are not just producing great journalist but also photojournalist that can see beyond to picture.
