Ojodu Accident: Sanwo-Olu Mourns Victims, Shuts School

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwoolu has sympathised with the bereaved family of victims of the tragic truck accident that claimed the lives of two students and injured 12 others at Grammar school area of Ojodu.
In a condolence message signed by the governor's Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile on Wednesday, he described the demise of the students as sad, unfortunate and avoidable.
He commiserated with the parents, management, staff and students of Ojodu Grammar school over the unfortunate death of students, and prayed for the survivors who are receiving treatment in hospital for the injuries they sustained.
He also instructed that the school be closed till January while investigation is ongoing as the erring truck driver is in the custody of the police.
NIJVOICE reported on Tuesday that about 17 students were claimed to be dead due to the incident.
However, police report and a statement released by the Ojodu Local Council Development Area confirmed that only two students: Adedoyin Adebayo and Akpolebi Isreal died on the spot of the accident while twelve students– seven females and five males sustained varying degrees of injuries
The victims of the accident at Grammar School Bus Stop along Ogunnusi Road were identified as students of Bab Fafunwa Millennium School, Ojodu Junior Grammar School, Omole Junior High School.
While the corpses of the dead students have been deposited at the Morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy, injured victims were said to be in stable conditions receiving medical attention at the following Hospitals,
• God’s Apple City Hospital, Ojodu Berger
• Royan Hospital, Aina Street Ojodu
• St. Michael Hospital, Ojodu
• Lagos State Emergency Hospital, Toll Gate, Ojota.
Governor Sanwo should pls do something about this.And the V.I.O should be dealt with cos they were the pursuing the trunk driver.I live in Omole,the way the V.I.O andLASTMA harrass people there is getting out of hands.They also come out on Saturdays too creating unnecessary traffic on the road.Gov.Sanwo should pls look into this matter and do something about it.
